Save Beeliar Wetlands photo competition ran in 2013. We invited people to submit their photos of North and Bibra Lakes for a photographic competition. Prizes of an underwater camera and aquaponics materials were donated by Valentines Camera House in Fremantle and Backyard Aquaponics in Bibra Lake.
We had a plethora of entries, and some stunning photographs of our unique and precious urban wetland lakes. Choosing a winner was a hard decision for the judges. But the final winners were: first prize -Thomas Rasmussen for his picture of North Lake, second prize – David Dewsbury from Fremantle for his picture of Frog Swamp in the North Lake reserve, and in the Junior section – first prize – Brianna Cleggett of Bibra Lake (13 years old) for her picture of a spiders web glistening in the sun.
All entries were displayed at our recent fundraiser “Swamp Tang”.
